The property owner had become frustrated with the streaky, uneven water marks and asked us to paint the wall. Rob observed that the water staining was coming from the back of the wall as water was seeping through the concrete. No paint job or skim coat will survive this for long.

Rather than proposing a quick paint job that will need constant maintenance, Rob proposed we address the root cause of the problem.

Below Grade Waterproofing
For a long lasting solution, we excavated dirt behind the wall, installed a drainage system, installed a moisture barrier and backfilled with drain rock. This allowed the water to drain before reaching the wall. Finally the wall was skim coated for a smooth surface.
